Courage, Winnie-the-Pooh, and Friendship

Today I am trying to figure out how to amalgamate the events of the week.  Elias and I attended a TEDx conference on courage,DSC_0690

Nicole was a butterfly in the elementary school production of Winnie the Pooh,DSC_0519

and, at long last, Elias’ best buddies from Vermont, three boys at maracasMiles and Nate, came to visit.

In an effort to combine these three events,  I have placed Winnie the Pooh quotes on courage and friendship alongside images from our little week in this corner of the world. Keeping in mind that this post cannot go without mentioning the immense tanker loads of courage I want to deliver straight to the doorsteps of the family members who lost their beautiful little children this week to the hands of insanity.

There is something you must always remember, DSC_0695you are braver than you believe, stronger than you seem, and smarter than you think.

You can’t stay in your corner of the Forest waiting for others to come to you.  DSC_0560You have to go to them sometimes.

Piglet: “Pooh?”  Pooh:  “Yes, Piglet?”  Piglet:”I’ve been thinking…DSC_0517 Pooh:  “Well, that’s a good habit to get into.”

We’ll be friends forever, nma edith fallsjust you wait and see.

Promise me you won’t forget me,DSC_0607because if I thought you would I’d never leave.

If you go after honey with a balloon, nic left out at maracasIts best not to let the bees know you are coming.

“What day is it?” asked PoohDSC_0603“Its today, squeaked Piglet.  “My favorite day.” said Pooh.

Sometimes the smallest things DSC_0464take up the biggest place in your heart.

Love is taking a few steps backward (maybe even more)..

et and nic edith fallsto give way to the happiness of the one you love.

“I knew when I met you ellen junie by nican adventure was going to happen.”

The sky is perfectly blue.  The clouds are perfect too.DSC_0600and here I am with you, what could be more right?

“Turn around, Piglet. Step lightly, Pooh.DSC_0641This silly ol’ dance is perfect for two.”

“Well,” said Pooh, “what I like best,” and then he had to stop and think. Because although Eating Honey was a very good thing to do,

pomerac facethere was a moment just before you began to eat it which was better than when you were, but he didn’t know what it was called.”

(Miles told us he wants to try a new fruit every day.  Here he is trying out a Pomerac)

“Friendship,” said Christopher Robin,DSC_0272can be a very comforting thing to have.”

It’s more fun to talk with someone who doesn’tDSC_0588use long, difficult words sapodilla facesbut rather short, easy words like “What about lunch?”

“I wonder what Piglet is doing,” thought Pooh. DSC_0598

“I wish I were there doing it, too.”

Yesterday is history, tomorrow is a mystery, but today is a gift.DSC_0628That’s why we call it the present, said  Winnie the Pooh.

Oh, Eeyore, you are wet!” said Piglet, feeling him. Eeyore shook himself,
DSC_0580and asked somebody to explain to Piglet what happened when you had been inside a river for quite a long time.”

We’ll be friends forever,

won’t we Pooh?” asked Piglet

Even longer.” Pooh answered.

“How do you spell ‘love’?” (Piglet)
“You don’t spell it…you feel it.” (Pooh)
